COMBUSTION SYNTHESIS OF ZnO NANO PARTICLES USING EUPHORBIA TIRUCALLI LAT EX AS REDUCING AGENT AND STUDY OF ITS STRUCTURAL AND PHOTO LUMINESCENCE CHARACTERISATION 

Abstract

Abstract: MultifunctionalZnO nanoparticles were synthesised by combustion methods using Euphorbia tirucalli plant latex asreducing agent. SEM and TEM images shows that the particles are spherical inshape. XPS and FTIR confirms purity of the sample. Energy gap of thesemiconducting ZnO nano particles was found to be 2.98 eV through UV-visspectroscopic studies. Photo luminescence studies shows that the particlesexhibit prominent green emission due to intrinsic defects. CIE plot indicatesthe usability of the particles in white light emitting diode (LED).The reportconcludes a simple, eco friendly, fast, cost effective method for the synthesisof ZnO nanoparticles.
