STUDY ON PROTEIN AND LIPID CONTENT IN FRESH WATER FISH CATLA(CATLA CATLA) AND TILAPIA (OREOCHROMIS MOSSAMBICUS)  FROM PAITHAN DISTRICT: AURANGABAD,  (M.S.), INDIA

Abstract

ABSTRACT: In the present study protein andLipid content of Catla (Catla catla)and Tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus) were study to know theirnutritional values. The value of Lipid content was 7.20 mg/gmin catla and 10.22 mg/gm inTilapia. The values of protein were, 17.24 mg/gm in Catla and 15.20 mg/gmin Tilapia. Protein variation was highest in Catla fishes, Lipid was highest in Tilapia. The study showsthat the cultures species are rich in food value.
