Abstract

Abstract: Augmented reality (AR) uses computer aidedgraphics to add an additional layer of information to aid understanding andinteraction with real world around us. Augmented reality was first introducedin 1990’s. Now the technology has evolved AR to begin to start its potentialespecially in mobile context. Goal of this paper is overview of basic aspectsof Augmented Reality (AR) and main concepts of this technology. It describesits main fields. Augmented Reality enhances the real world by overlappingcomputer generated data on top of it. The paper evaluates the research andapplication done in education stream using augmented reality. This describesthe characteristics of augmented reality systems and can be used as startingpoint of anyone who is wishing to enhance the technology by considering futureaspects and demand in any stream.
