NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF BOILER TUBE FOR THEIMPROVEMENT OF HEAT TRANSFER RATE

Abstract

Abstract:- Improving the boiler efficiency has become a wide research interest in the recent past. Boiler tube designed alsoundergone drastic changes for improving the efficiency of the engine. In this regard boiler tubes with plain and knurlingsurface tubes have gained more performance due to its ability to avoid heat loss at valves due to film condensation. So the aimof present study is to improvement of heat transfer rate of boiler by changing the surface structure tube. In this study twodifferent tubes were considered like plain boiler tube and knurling boiler tube having Mesh 3mm Model dimensions. Outerdiameter 50 mm Inner diameter 46.5 mm and 50 mm length is using in this investigation. Numerical analysis has been carriedout on this tubes using ANSYS. Transient Thermal analysis to determine the temperature distribution and heat flux withstructural steel materials present used for both boiler tubes. 3D model of both boiler tubes are designed in solid works andtransient thermal analysis done in ANSYS.
