Abstract

Abstract:- In this work, main concentration is done on the crack detection with the help of mode shape data. The mainapplications in the real time, two types of beams are taken which are cantilever and simply supported beams. The mainparameters of this work are mode shape, slope and curvature for two types of beams for with and without damage consideration.The MATLAB code was developed with the help of finite element methods. Mode shapes are plotted with the help of softwarewhich is validated with ANSYS results. Both are having good agreement. Based on the above results, at the support of cantileverbeam; maximum chances are there for damage is identified. For simply supported beam, the chances of damage occur at themiddle of the beam. This technique is very helpful to identify the crack detection for industrial components.
