LEVERAGING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE CHEMICALINDUSTRY: A PARADIGM SHIFT

Abstract

Abstract: The chemical industry is at the forefront of a transformative shift driven by the integration of Artificial Intelligence(AI) and Machine Learning (ML). This integration enhances process optimization, material discovery, and sustainablepractices, fostering innovation across various chemical processes. Recent studies, such as those by Wang et al. (2020),demonstrate that machine learning algorithms can significantly optimize reaction conditions, leading to enhanced yields andreduced waste. Zhang et al. (2021) explore’s capacity for advanced optimization in process design, allowing the identificationof optimal operating parameters that reduce energy consumption and environmental impact.Furthermore, Lee et al. (2019) highlight the application of deep learning in material discovery, enabling the identification ofnovel catalysts and reagents that improve reaction selectivity and speed. This article synthesizes cutting-edge research andprovides an overview of AI-driven advancements in the chemical industry, focusing on how AI technologies are transformingchemical processes, research and development and sustainability initiatives.
